Vae Victis Cane Coros Health Gaurantee

We are often asked what in our opinion is the worst part of owning a Cane Corso, for us that is an easy question to answer… The worst part of owning a Cane Corso or any other dog is losing them.  When a family dog dies, especially unexpectedly, due to careless breeders pairing two unhealthy dogs for the sake of making money, it is the dogs and their families who suffer.

The two German Shepherds in the above picture are Dexter and Sagan.  Dexter was the first dog WE owned as a family.  We were so in love with Dexter that we added Sagan to our family a short time later.  Both dogs came from breeders who swore to us that they were “health checked.”  When we asked if there was a chance either would develop hip or elbow dysplasia were told by both breeders, “We’ve never had that problem in our lines.”  We were young and in-experienced, we believed the breeders.  They used all the cool catch lines like, “health checked” “Champion bloodlines” and “Imported bloodline.”

Unfortunately for us, but even more unfortunate for Dexter and Sagan, their breeders were dishonest.  Over the years Dexter developed thyroid issues, pancreatic issues, congenital heart issues, and hip and elbow dysplasia.  Sagan Developed hip dysplasia so severe she eventually lost the ability to walk under her own power. When we lost Dexter and Sagan, we vowed that we would do our best to never allow another family to experience the passing of dog the same way we did.

We are well-aware and you should be too, that you could breed two of the most health tested dogs, that have generation after generation of dogs in their pedigrees with excellent hips and elbows and genetic clearances, and still produce a litter containing a few pups that will develop some kind of genetic issue.  Vae Victis Cane Corso offers the following in our contract: Your puppy is guaranteed to be in good health will all current age-appropriate vaccinations and guaranteed against severe, life-altering, and crippling cases of hip and elbow dysplasia until the age of 24 months.  If your puppy does not meet these health guidelines, a replacement puppy will be given to you when available.  The option of retaining your initial puppy is your option, but if surrendering the dog, you  shall hand the puppy over to Vae Victis Cane Corso with all registration papers.

Vae Vicits Cane Corso also offers lifetime breeder support to our extended Cane Corso family.  Even if you acquired your Corso from another kennel, we would love to assist you in any way we can.  We will always make ourselves available to you should you need any assistance, or even just some reassurance.  We want to stay in touch with you.  We want to know how our dogs are doing with your family.  We love when our extended Cane Corso family share pictures or social media posts.
