They say the perfect dog does not exist, and “they” are correct… Tiernan was the perfect dog.  He was the perfect combination of friend, companion, confidant and protector.  He was extremely intelligent, loving and protective, all the qualities that you would expect from a Cane Corso. 

For nearly 4 years Tiernan joined us on family trips, trips to social events, even trips to the hardware store.  Tiernan competed and excelled in conformation and FastCAT.  One of our greatest delights was watching the look on the faces of unsuspecting spectators as Tiernan completed his 100 yard sprint at a blistering pace over 24 MPH. 

Tiernan was the epitome of a breed ambassador.  He rarely met a soul he did not love, at least not as long as we gave him the “go ahead” nod.  Tiernan was huge in his physical presence, his head was massive, probably bigger than an NBA basketball.  He stood right at 28” at the withers and weighed 145 lbs.  Yet he was incredibly kind and gentle with our children, even after bringing our second baby home from the hospital.  And that is what makes this tragedy even more difficult to deal with….

The day after our son was born, in early June 2023 Tiernan suddenly died while we were at the hospital.  We never had the chance to say goodbye to him.  The most heart-breaking part of this whole experience is that Tiernan wont be here to help us raise our children.

We intentionally left Tiernan’s accomplishments blank, simply because at the end of the day, none of those matter.  He was the perfect dog, he was our dog….. We are diminished...

Tiernan, A lifetime with you would not have been long enough.  We love and thank you!! See you at the bridge xoxox
